Admire the imagination and work of BBF Committee Member Elizabeth Hanson as demonstrated in the Rogers Free Library Windows. And while you’re there, get a look at a 3-D printed “Mechanical Hound,” compliments of the RWU MakerSpace. On BookFest Saturday, you can meet a full-sized Spot, a Boston Dynamics Robot we consider an honorary Mechanical Hound. Spot will be handled by Brown University doctoral students, and the robot will be on site for demos and photos. Please note, while footage will not be used, multiple cameras on Spot allow it to “see,” navigate, and have “short-term memory.” If you prefer not to be filmed by Spot, please leave the ballroom for this portion of our program.
