Winter Updates from Bristol BookFest ❤️‍🔥

We are putting the finishing touches on our 2025 BristolBookFest Weekend line-up and are excited to share that with you soon!

Until then, January 2025 marks the beginning of our “Fahrenheit 451” season! Join us in exploring the novel through resources and upcoming events.

Winter Reading Seminars

Over four Tuesdays beginning January 21 (6-7:30pm at the Rogers Free Library) this year’s Bristol BookFest Winter Seminar, Steve Calvert will review a different “great reader technique” each week, apply that technique to “Fahrenheit 451”, and together discuss about ¼ of the text until we’ve finished the book.

Register in advance at rogersfreelibrary.org/bristolbookfest. Please feel welcome to attend as many Tuesdays as you are able.

January-March Events

at Rogers Free Library

In addition to the Winter Reading Seminar, other BBF events are held during January-March. This year they include Firefighter Storytime at Hydraulion Engine & Hose Co #1, a lecture from RWU History Professor Charlotte Carrington-Farmer on the new and dangerous ideas of Roger Williams, and for the third year, our beloved and very special Readers’ Theater. Register for these and other events here.

Reader’s Guide & Supplemental Materials

by Roger Williams University Library

Every year for BookFest, the Roger Williams University Library builds a library guide to accompany the selected book. This year the materials range from video clips of Bradbury, the Simpsons, links to a graphic novel and a pdf of the original, along with articles exploring the relevance of “Fahrenheit 451” to the 21st Century.
